look closely at the bottom-right corner… “more fire” AND a picture of a hand-grenade. The cherry on top: an exclamation mark. Perhaps its a kind of inspirational statement? Or, dare we say it, inflammatory?

as an aside, this is the same truck, this time with a matatu launching itself towards oblivion. This is a steep incline, and there was at the time of the photo, a large truck squarely (and speedily) making progress in the opposite direction. Everyone survived, so it was ok.

After a 5am start, I looked back and saw cloud coming down from the hills. And the sun rising.

some kinds of nationalism are fun

Posted in Uncategorized on March 9, 2008 by hubricant

I felt I should be a little more understanding of narrow-minded provinciality after my last broadside… stumbled across one of my old favourite topics: “micro-nations”. And discovered that Sealand recently celebrated its 40th aniversary.
